Willis Ave Bridge 2

Willis Avenue Bridge, NYC, New York
The most Costly bridge of NYC DOT. Replacement of old bridge keeping 2 lanes active all the time. Staged Construction.
Design of foundations and all geotechnical structures. Design included: Drilled shafts up 5 feet diameter, Small diameter bored-in-piles, Abutments and Bulkheads, Permanent and Temporary Soldier Piles and Lagging walls, Sheet pile walls, Tie backs, MSE and GRES walls, Soil and Rock anchors, Micro Tunneling, T-walls, FRP fender piles. Analyses included: Settlement analysis of drilled shafts, piles, and walls, Lateral analysis of piles and sheet piles, drilled shafts, FB-Pier analysis of piers, Deformation analysis of MSE and GRES walls, Shear and stability analyses of the embankments for staged constructions.
Started with sub-soil investigation and analysis of geotechnical properties of soil and rock; and ended as a Geotechnical Lead with construction support services, construction inspection with PDA, Video inspection of drilled shafts, Sonic Logging tests of drilled shafts, Osterberg tests of drilled shafts, Static pile tests, Crosshole sonic tests.

Design of Pile Foundations with precast prestressed concrete piles, Analysis of Settlements, Lateral load analysis, Pile drivability analysis, Design of cofferdams, Construction support services, PDA testing, inclinometer testing of soil movements, and settlement observations.
